NMR's Advisory Board is currently made up of the following members:
Rebecca Coates Nee is an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at San Diego State University. Her teaching and research center around how social media is changing media, politics, and audience behaviors. She has authored seven peer-reviewed articles published in academic journals and presented numerous conference papers. She earned her doctorate in educational technology from Pepperdine University. Prior to entering academia, she worked as a television news anchor/reporter at network affiliates across the United States. She received her master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and bachelor’s in political science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Natalie is an in-house lawyer who works on intellectual property, e-commerce, licensing, privacy, and other corporate legal matters. She is an Internet Law & Policy Foundry Fellow and a part of the team at Without My Consent, a non-profit seeking to combat serious online invasions of privacy. She earned a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona State University. During law school, she was an intern at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and the First Amendment Project. Outside of her legal practice, she is deeply passionate about music and the arts.
