An Invite to Join us on social media We'd like to invite you to connect with us on social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube. We invite you to send us a note, or write a review of your experience with New Media Rights. We are growing New Media Rights is growing our services and staff. We are happy to announce many new projects and resources that will be of interest to you. Mera Szendro Bok has joined the New Media Rights team as Communications and Information Officer. Please feel free to direct your inquires about your rights online and ways that you would like to see the site and our services grow to meet your needs to her at mera@newmediarights.org Newest Projects We are updating the site daily with new videos from our embedded journalist John Mattes , who is investigating consumer protection issues for our affiliate UCAN.org. You can learn about investigative journalism by going out into the field with John. We are providing more and more resources, and you should look forward to a video guide for filmmakers on lighting, sound, storytelling, and legal issues in December. Our goal here at New Media Rights is to become a strong resource for you as a creator, speaker and citizen online. Newmediarights.org will help you to find information and understand the technical and legal aspects of creating websites, podcasts, blogs, and participating. Creating and sharing content online empowers us, but it is important to understand your legal rights. New Media Rights will also be filing comments in January for the FCC's important proceeding regarding Net Neutrality. New Media Rights Latest News New Media Rights Community Journalism Project New Media Rights Citizen Journalism Project One of NMR latest blogs focuses the October 7th, 2009 FCC hearing at the University of San Diego. The FCC is seeking comments on the new National Broadband Plan. We highly encourage you to visit http://www.broadband.gov/ to add to this discussion that will shape how we can use the Internet for decades to come. The blog will give you insight into what many are calling a looming "spectrum crisis" and how experts are planning to combat this both locally and nationally. NMR also is planning on filing comments in the net neutrality proceeding.
