New Media Rights Latest News

New Media Rights Community Journalism Project

New Media Rights has launched it's investigative reporting project this month! Our embedded reporter John Mattes has been going out in the field as an independent journalist investigating the public interest issues and complaints that UCAN's Fraud Squad has collected. Right now we have three videos available for you to explore such topics as deceptive cell phone kiosks, insurance companies failure to pay doctors and rising water rates in San Diego. This topics are timely and important to the community and if you are interested in going out in the field with John Mattes, just give us a call!

New Media Rights Citizen Journalism Project

We are looking to help aspiring filmmakers and journalists have the opportunity to learn from John Mattes out in the field. This is a great opportunity for budding journalists or new filmmakers who want to see how to create online video content.

Net Neutrality Advocacy

One of NMR latest blogs focuses the October 7th, 2009 FCC hearing at the University of San Diego. The FCC is seeking comments on the new National Broadband Plan. We highly encourage you to visit http://www.broadband.gov/ to add to this discussion that will shape how we can use the Internet for decades to come. The blog will give you insight into what many are calling a looming "spectrum crisis" and how experts are planning to combat this both locally and nationally. NMR also is planning on filing comments in the net neutrality proceeding.
